  4. I have been a little busy lately with life so here are a few pictures of the Charles City, Iowa show that I spent my entire Labor Day weekend at. It was a great show and we had some nice weather. I did some plowing on Monday of the show with my McCormick Deering 15-30 and my IHC 1 bottom 18in plow. A friend of mine also plowed with his 16-30 Hart-Parr and was using my Grand Detour 2-14 chain lift plow. I spent the rest of my weekend on Jerred Rubles 20hp Minneapolis and I operated the engine for the sawmill! Troy

  10. No comment necessary. "Democrats are convinced that cow farts are causing the destruction of our planet and nearly all of the 2020 field have some kind of a plan to ban or restrict meat consumption. Because democrats are also raging hypocrites all of the 2020 candidates are headed to Iowa for the annual “Steak-Fry,” an event in which obscene amounts of meat is consumed." https://defconnews.com/2019/09/20/meat-banning-democrats-head-to-iowa-steak-fry-for-pandering-and-hypocrisy/

  11. My cousins car broke down and I went to pull him in. We had a chain pulling his car. A deer ran between my truck and his car. The deer tripped over the chain and my cousins car ran over the deer. There was nothing we could do to prevent hitting the deer.

  15. Today was SUPPOSED to be a short day. Home to Des Moines, Iowa, 62.5 miles. Then up to Ames, Iowa and back, approximately another 80 miles, and back towards home, so another 62.5 miles. So 4 hours work. I left at 9am expecting to be home around 1. Got home at 5 so obviously the train derailed and left the tracks?. They weren't ready in Ames like they said they were ?. Got back to Des Moines just to find a roll up door in desperate need of some love. So it got delivered to the shop. Hit the truck stop for fuel and head back for another trailer, another roll up door failure, ? busted cable. So a

  18. Headed to Sundance WY this evening. Got a copilot too. She’s excited to go to Wyoming because the state capital is the same as her first name (Cheyenne). Might be a long trip for me, though. She never stops talking when she’s in the truck, my ears won’t get a rest until she goes to sleep.

  19. I had a very drunk, very naked young lady run out in front of me in the town of Baumholder Germany. Following closely behind there was a clothed young man trying to get her under control. The young man was the loader on my tank crew. He married her several months later. Rick

  21. When my wife was a fairly new young bride, she came across a porcupine crossing the road. She knew how much I hated them so preceded to send it to it's maker with the Crew Cab. Beaming with pride, she tells me "I kilt me a porkypine". Hooooowwww? With the pickup!!! C'mere honey. Walked around to the front right tire. The "porkypine" transferred about 75% of its quills to that tire. Lesson #32 of many more to come.????

I have created folders on my computer per tractor series, when Pete23, Snoshoe an anybody else for that matter posts what they know I make sure to copy & paste into appropriate folder. I have an ever growing amount of the best info. It's the best because the posters have lived it an ain't just a guess. I do however wonder about MTO sometimes! Thanks again everybody..........................

  23. I agree with all the positive sentiments of this Forum. Thank You Twostepin2001 for the kind words , I remember that fondly. I might add that I have a framed pencil art picture of my SMTA with a heat houser on it, hanging in my shop office , that Twosteppin did for me. NOT TO MENTION , the 806 L.P. that He and our former "passed" member John A found in Texas , basically Joking , and It happened to be just what I had envisioned if I ever found one. It came to Cali. and ended up being a near two year project. lol. We still laugh about that ! I joined July of 2007 , My first re

See ya'll are beginning to wear light jackets or sweaters up that way---------we are still fighting 97° heat in T-shirts. Am ready for some cooler weather. Rice, corn and soybean harvest really moving along-----cotton harvest just beginning. Lots of field work going on behind the big combines. Things move fast with today's equipment. DD

  25. I'm so glad you posted those pictures, Troy! I was going looking for this thread, and there it was, front and center! It looks like you guys were having fun and doing a great job of plowing at Charles City. I'm sure you enjoyed engineering Jerred's 20 hp Minneapolis. I'm glad you got to engineer it. The third steam engine I ever ran was a 20 hp Minneapolis at Waterloo, Iowa in August of 1958. Shelby Bellinger Sr. had his 20 hp Minneapolis there. His son Dean and I have been friends ever since that very first day. That was a three day show and the next weekend at Cedar Falls was another three d

There was a previous attorney general that didn't prosecute a bunch of background check law breakers and this is the majority of the problem. Laws on the books and not enforced when broken ....

  28. Done a couple loader tires for this guy. I’m not equipped to do these often but once in awhile I take them on. Bead on these things are huge, 3” wide give or take. 20 ply 26 - 25, small puncture in side wall. The 2 buckets of fix a flat is what previous owner “fixed “ it with instead of fixing it right.

His volunteer concrete crew comments in a recent thread came to bite me......................Finished my last pour in the barn, with the little cement mixer...............by myself Could be just me, I think I rather shovel portland, sand, and gravel over man handling 80 lbs bags of Quikrete????? Or does that make me old sckool?

  30. going back to the gear pump is a joke the piston pump is much better those pumps are simple to work on I've rebuilt dozens with excellent results if all you want lower performance flow the gear pump will be ok they are reliable but you'll sacrifice other things flow and closed center hydraulics and the flow control and motor valve function plus alot more expense converting it over to the old gear pump

  31. Came in from checking cows this morning, walked into the house and got in an argument with my beautiful bride of 32 years. Smack dab in the middle of the argument she stopped and said "your right". Where do I go from here. Totally confused. Never seen her use this tactic before. I don't know what to say next. ?? ?

  32. Well how about this, I ran in front of a deer's road on the snowmobile once..... Going down the trail @ 50 mph or so, and got clobbered from the side by the deer. Took me off the seat hard! We both tumbled down the side of the trail a ways, deer got up and scrambled away... I sat there a while.

I will be sure to double the amount!! This sounds like a job for Georgia Thornton of the Oregon Department of Transportation. The man in charge of removing the whale from the beach with dynamite. ”The blast blasted blubber beyond all believable bounds.”

  38. I would still have to buy the other ingredients and mess around with finding a mixer. Then i would have to spend the time shoveling, mixing, and pouring. That is all time i could be doing something else that makes me money.

  39. I can see that. Tire work, especially farm stuff, sucks. That`s why many sub it out to the tire shops. I don`t jump up and down when I see a farm tire being rolled in and I am the OWNER! But that doesn`t justify his apathy. Finding ambitious help is not easy. Or ANY help for that matter. Ask TP about that pouring cement.

  40. Your tractor has a super charge line where the rear pump supplies fluid to mcv pump. When you use rear pump that flow to mcv pump stops and then mcv pump has to pull it's fluid through filter. So, your problem is in that circuit. Could be, Worn pump or sucking air, or blocked supply . Will need to check from filter to mcv pump. Mcv pump supplies all tractor controls, steering, TA, brakes and lube circuit.
