Dia480

International T6 project

Recommended Posts

Mike,

That could be it? I have one side that is very obvious and the other track I cant seem to locate the pin to remove. That depression may be a indicator that it is the one to try to get out?? Hope the experts will be along soon!

Regards,

Chris

You wouldn't have a extra light assembly that you would part with do you? That sure is one clean machine compared to the worn, rusty TD6 setting in my yard in soggy North West Pensylvania!

 Chris

During research for light bulbs on the net it led me directly to this thread. I used the link provided above to order two 12 volt bulbs from Rex's Speed shop in the UK. Maybe available in the states but went with the first place I found them. I think there might have been resistors that dropped these from 12 volt down to 6 volt. I need to do some looking on the machine I want these to be 12 volt.

BTW Dia480, what is the status of this nice T6 project?

Your hood (and tractor) is in really nice shape! Mine is a rusty, bent, broken, worn hulk!:)

Regards,

 Chris

Mike,

Wow does that looks nice! Your body panels look super straight and smooth. Someone is a good body person and painter!  Thanks for posting the pictures of your T6 progress! Those big old bug eye lights look great! Love the John Deere dozer in the air cleaner too. Did you find a emblem yet?

Regards,

 Chris

Dia480,  You are doing great work and your T6 looks great.  I also noticed other IH in the background and they are all pretty too.

Not to be at all critical, but in the pic with rails wrapped I noticed that they are on backwards and I also realize they were installed temporarily .  The open end of the link needs to come over the front idler first.  Also on a T6 it is possible to install the shoes backwards.  The edge of the shoe with the grouser needs to be the leading edge.

Not intended to offend but to make you aware if you did not already know.  The mistake has been made many times and after all the work you have done I'm sure you would want it right.

Keep up the good work

Dennis

I think Tanker and Mike need to get their machines together for a show! Both are outstanding restorations! You guys set the bar really high for the rest of us! Just had to wipe the drool off the screen again!:)

 Chris

WOW! I was trying to guess at the amount of prep time a restoration of this magnitude might encompass 1000 - 1500 hours was my guess and with all the attention to detail just blows my little mind! OH great looking tractor too russ

@farmalldr :  Your right, the funny thing is me and my 3 sons carried the track over to shop and I changed my mind 2 times and re-postioned the chain and i still did it wrong. I have not installed them yet so I just have to get my son's together again and reverse it.... thanks for the critic

@sugarmaker : I did find the emblem from "the Emblem guy" here on RedPower site, I just need to paint background
