And no eye protection, but he has two personnel on fire watch!  Well, one that's paying attention and one with her back turned.

LOL...in the manure to boot.  We always do I guess, burns only sting for a sec.  Romeos are better than boots....shorts n boot allow slag into them..YEOOWZZA.  YES he supposed to grab the glasses on the torch cart.  Dumb dumb.  I just stopped to take pic going between pens.

Cooled down a bunch here...maybe 80.  Still smokey, 80% chance of rain saturday...hope so.  Mid Nov have a meeting in Yaki, going to try to work it out to stop and say hi and see your stuff Snerland.  Hear corns coming off already down there.

There is a 1x1 apx curb ypu cant see.  The bedding was deep since dad raked it out level.  The post rusted off and alot were broke so the 1/2 blocked stalls had big piles.  If normal you'd see it.

Ok. Ours started out as plastic pipe that is breaking. Been replacing it with railroad ties. The plastic is a nightmare as pieces plug the agitation nozzle on the manaur pump

I bet.  They have them speed bump pipe things too.  I assume they come loose sooner or later.  If head to heads we pour 1x1 curb where we cement in 6"x2" channel with 2.5" pipe welded too end for loop to slip into.  Never fixed them again.  These are Artex, good loops, to light mounting material.  We got more same loops used with good clamps.  Replaced all the nuts and bolts n washers then are mounting horizontally to get out of bedding.  This is the only spot in barn where they have failed bad.  No real reason.

Got to old rv show.  Girls loved it!  200 units showed up in the rain.  Wow what work to fix em up.

Well kinda bummer day.  We had the vet put the old dog down.  He was totally blind and sooo stiff.  Even with dog ibuprofen you could see his groans.  Also lost control od his poo.  Would be laying around and just go.  Just hated the idea of him walking into traffic or manure pit.  13 years old...84 dog years i guess.  He went asleep quietly with me scratching his ears.  Kids did little funeral in the flower bed at brothers place.  Was technically his dog.

Troy

Sorry about the dog. Our original chocolate lab is going to be 14 day after or before Christmas ( I forget what day) and my wife keeps saying it's not going to be long before she's going to doggie heaven. It's a tough one.

Sorry to hear about your dog.  Looks like he had a good life, 13 years on the farm and a herd of kids, don't get much better than that for a lab

Youd stay cleaner here than Tonys.  70 years ago a guy dis this...prettt cool actually.  If he took the time to build it he must of had quite the pile to handle.

Corn 2017... doing the dry fields first I know it's hard to tell.  Cheap rent....only could irrigate 2x.  Been spuds ir raspberries for 60 years... little weak on organic matter.  And next season spud so he would not allow manure on it.

Kinda easy day today.  Got tin on gable ends of the barn that fell in snow finally done.  Got near 2" rain last 3 days.  Went from summer to late fall in 12 hrs here!  Last grass chop next week, I think, then finish corn silage lord willing.  Cool, 40s at night 50s at day time.  Amazing how grass has greened so quick even with the cool weather.  Been talking with our neighbor.  Quit milking in 13, 250 cows, the been renting to his son in law who milked about 40 hd and makes some goofy yogurt.  His partner  (friend of ours)  owned the cows.  Afyer 3 years of making 0 money and getting paid nothing for his cows milk he loaded them up a couple weeks ago.  Is in process of lawsuit now, sad deal,  his vet 3x supported his assumption they cattle were malnourished...they did look rough for sure.  Pasture was gone gone and never waterer all summer.  Big mess.  Well he needs the barns rented to live on.  Rents 1/2 the land to berry guy.  About 3/4 mile from us.  Should work out alright.  Thinking putting only milking jerseys there.

And this, we NEEDED to go out for our anniversary, went to get sitter....her chocho lab jumped all over side of my nice dark truck.  I miss white!  Bad scratches...and kids made seats mwssy from vacations.  120 bucks (had bday cash) and guy did 8 hr detail.  Wow..amazing good job.
