ht 570 is one of the most miserable diesels to work on but the tran2 is one of the most comfortable trucks to drive. the larger pepsi trucks are transtars. a funiture company here has one. fast powerful truck. saw a bobtail one i tried to steal

drove an early co transtar with a 400 cummins in think. rode like crap. smelled like fuel all the time. but it hauled pipe just fine

i had a 1975 transtar 4300, 350 ccummins, 13 speed with two speed axles, long aluminum frame and 44,000 rubber block suspension, a real heavy hauler. great truck but the heater was poor so in the winter it was a cold ride. had an aluminum grain trailer that darn near got busted to pieces from that truck but handeled a heavy drop deck with a crawler on the back real well. will try to post a picture of it if i can find one......dieselman.

I have a 1974 K100 KW, It's only got 250,000 original miles on it, so it's really nice, but I'll take my 4070 any day, That 4070 is the quietest truck I have ever driven, and such a nice tight cab, it even beats my '94 379 Peterbilt.

Id still like to get a transtar II but for what i paid for the K100E i couldnt pass it up. maybe someday i will find a nice one, or a west coaster would be cool too

She's a pretty good old truck, it is a factory glider kit, so when it was put together they put a Petetrbilt air ride under it, it has a 400 Big Cam 1 Cummins in it and a 13 spen transmission. We just retired it about 2 years ago but it went into my private collection. When I restore it I want to put an International air ride under it. The frame from the sleeper back is getting pretty bad so it is a good canidate for a cut off suspension.
