THE INTERNATIONAL GOLD DEMONSTRATOR'S (Post Your Pics)

Recommended Posts

The IH Gold Demonstrator Tractor program was started in mid 1970's when IH announced the Golden Demonstrator tractor program to its dealers. These Tractors were painted a dull Golden color (most likely paint color was taken from IH's Truck Division) to show the features of the NEW ! IH tractor lineup . One of the reasons for the Gold color really was to promote the Hydrostatic drive tractors. The Hood ,and Fenders were painted in the Gold color and the rest of the tractor was IH Red. These Tractors also had a decal on the side of the hood that read "DEMONSTRATOR"

So for all you Goldie's out there Post your pictures of Your tractor

or implement and tell us a little story about it .

Good choice Matt, those are Old Max Favourite's and Jerry, Smoker 1, Smoker's tractors at Madison WI in 2009. Jerry's is the one with the chrome stack.

here is my 826 hydro, baling hay several years ago. i bought it from the sons of the original owner. it was being demonstrated in the area, and when it got to their farm, the father told the dealer he would have to find a different tractor to demo, because the 826 wasn't leaving the farm. the sons repainted it red because they couldn't find the right shade of gold. it has lots of gold overspray on the air cleaner, underside of hood, inside the fender supports etc.

Here is a shot of Max's 656. This is from the 2008 Chapter 33 Red Power Review. I found out later that this was shortly after Max got it all put back together. That's me at the wheel. I will admit that this is the day I fell in love with it

You've just got to look. A lot of people don't know what they have and don't realize it's something special. Eason

How many gold demos were put out there and how many are accounted for? I'll start checking every darned tractor I see and worry about permission later, lol.
