Best MCV pump to buy

4 posts in this topic

I am working ona 1066 for a guy at work it needs a new mcv pump it won't prime when its cold. I worked at a IH dealer for 10 years till it closed in 1985 then had my shop for 10 years before going to a maintenance job in a factory for the benifits. When i ran my shop full time there were some pumps that weren't worth buying. I used some Case IIH pumps buy I was quoted over $500 for one now

I have been using HyCaps 1086 MCV pump (120114HD new) in all of the TAs I do. This is a 13gpm pump instead of the 9gpm that is stock, theory being that as these 40 year old tractors wear there is quite a bit of bypass oil in the steering, brakes etc. .The pump should list for about $300 from your local HyCap dealer. I also reman the MCV valve with 1566 springs to up the pressures some. I have never had a MCV pump failure.
