Finally got a chance to work on the 966. Some of you might remember this photo.

When I split the tractor I found this. I'll bet it made a H$ll of a racket when everything turned loose.

'66 1206 puller, '67 1206, '67 1256, whats left of another '67 1256 (parts), & 682 Cub Cadet are mine; Dad has a 1066 B.S., 826D, 756D, two 706's w/ D310's, '53 Super M (stage 2), 1640 combine, and a 1650 Cub Cadet. All located in Northeast Nebraska.

Red Bibs engine was a 361 turbo, I'm going to use the D-414 out of the rolled 966. Eason

i see that the flywheel and clutch stayed inside the tractor, thats exactly why when i had my souped up '73 chevy nova with a 402 CI big block, (marketed as a 396),that was putting out about 500 HP that i installed a lakewood 2 piece scattershield (replacement bell housing) that was made out of 3/8 thick steel, because when it was turning close to 9 grand on the tach i didnt want to have that stuff coming thru the floor at me.

Ouch ,,had a 4366 do that several years ago ,had 50 hours on a brand new rebuilt injection pump ,,then got a junk yard engine ,,well ran for 105 hours and did same thing ,,I blame pistin fatique broke through wrist pin
Been an IH man all of my life although do have numerous other tractors

I'm not so sure about that. I'm thinkin' he's going to need some JB Weld too.
