I have a Dresser 175C, S/N 4290004U004166.

I think it is a 1987 model; however, I have never found a chart or listing that shows it to be a '87. I have seen all the IH listings on this thread; however,

they only go up to early '80's.

Is there such a listing available?

Thanks

I bought a Dresser TD7G serial # 4410022K005016. I've been told it is 16th in the Korean production of this model. Does anyone know when it was made, or the year they first built these in Korea?

The TD7G was built in Korea and the US. The Korean serial series began with 5001 so you have the 16th produced. The US version began with 501. Yours is most likely a 1987 or 1988 model

I have a 530 Payloader that is Canadian (why it's in Colorado I don't know) built with a Cxx2179 serial number instead of the Uxx2179 (U for USA built) number. My questiion, was there both a Uxx2179 and a Cxx2179 machine? (2179 is not the actual number used for example only)

I have obtained a list of Serial Numbers of most the IH Great Britain built Construction Equipment - Crawlers, Crawler Loaders, Pay Loaders & Industrial tractors.

If anyone has a particular British built model they need to find a Serial Number list for, send me a PM and I will do my best.

The first 530s were built in Japan serial 17501 without a J in the serial number. They were branded Kimco (Komatsu International Manufacturing Company). For mostly Asian / Pacific markets. They were also made in Canada for all markets (Candiac Plant). They were made in Libertyville plant and finally to HSW in Poland.

Are there any breakdowns to the suffixes to the serial numbers?  I have seen someone suggest that the numbers and letters after a serial number are about the equipment the crawler was provided with we have 1946 T-6 serial number TBK13571 T7CL.  What do the last 4 letters and numbers refer to?

We have two IH 3616 Backhoes.  The serial numbers are 1127 D and 2134 D.  Can anyone tell me what year they were manufactured?  I can't locate a block date, only the casting numbers.  I looked at the serial numbers listed, but none were for this series.  Any advice on where to research the serial numbers would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Since I last posted, I have located the engine serial numbers and the casting dates on the manifolds and the engines.  They are as follows:

IH 3616 Backhoe Serial # 1127 D    Eng #  D236 16683    Eng Casting Date:  8 - 22 O    Manifold Casting Date:  9 - 100   Which I think means 9 - 10 - O

IH 3616 Backhoe Serial # 2134 D   Eng #  D236 17644    Eng Casting Date:  2 - 9 - M    Manifold Casting Date:  3 - 4 - M

Can anyone verify to me that M is for the year 1966?  And that, O is for the year 1968?   If so, it wouldn't mean those are year of manufacture, but it would narrow down the possible years.  I found those letters used for the IH Cub.

Thanks for any information you might have for me.

Thank you, Michael. This is probably as close as I can get to the year of manufacture of these two backhoes as I haven't been able to locate any serial number years.

I've glazed over this article/thread and didn't see This detail

FYI:

The engine casting date is when the engine block was cast, after which the foundry would warehouse the raw castings three months or more allowing the castings to cure.

So the Engine Casting date gives general information about the engine and why the engine casting dates and the out/production dates aren't the same.

This thread contains IH construction equipment serial number lists and engine cross reference information. Excellent info for ascertaining the year of manufacture of your crawler tractor and the engine it uses, not to mention the other machines that use the same engine.

If you have questions about your machine, post them as new topics. If you have additional info pertaining to this topic, please feel free to add it.

Starting this off with this web site link to a set of very nice serial number lists.

Many thanks to those who post here. :)

I'm looking at TD-14A serial number TDF34659.  There are differences between that one & my -14A serial number TDF36246 manufactured in the same year.  I'm told by my "main mechanic" that farm tractors were built with different gear ratios or rear end ratios, giving higher speeds/gear.  Is there any way to find out if this is correct, other than putting the two tractors side by side, picking a gear & see what happens?  He was guessing that the farm tractor might be geared too high for plowing snow, which is my main reason for having the tractor.
