Winter Tractor Show

Recommended Posts

Every January our tractor club participates in “The Farm Fair” at the local mall. Here’s a few pics from this year’s show.

Here’s a few of the other colors that showed up. All in all 22 tractors braved the elements to strut their stuff in the middle of the winter.

Neat!  I usually detest going to malls but I'd like THAT mall! Or would it be a "Farm Mall"?

Goodness the 400 and 450 are set up for work with all of those weights hanging off the back.

Thanks for the pics.  Looks like a great show.  We still coulda got the 3788 in there.  ;)

PS could you post a pic of the board that's in front of your M?  I'd be interested in reading it.

Very Good! I like that. Yeah we turned it into a "Farm Mall".

I would venture to say that the majority of the guys that drove tractors in there last night had not seen the inside of that mall since we did it last year. Myself included.

2+2 Guy,  What fun events those "Mall Shows" are!  The local all brand club that I belong to did one for many years but now the Mall has closed so we are done.   One year when we featured IH we got Max Armstrong and his Super H and Super M and the Orion Samuleson F-20 and had almost 100 tractors in the Mall!  Hope you can keep going.

Very nice tribute to your Dad , Thanks for the pictures , Pretty nice to do something like that, I don't think it would work in our Mall , Doubt any male over 20 visits that mall . lol.

Yes Tony, we had a better than average turn out this year. I think the 58 deg. temp. on Thursday night when we hauled in helped. Looks like 18 deg. is the forecast for when we pull out on Sunday though. The guys in the club tell me that 30 some tractors was the best we ever had.

Malls in our area all seem to be struggling. Sears closed up here 2 years ago and rumor has it that Penny's will be next. Those were the two big anchor stores at either end of the mall. Crowds are sure not what they used to be in the mall.  I just wonder how long this local mall will survive.

Mount a windbreaker to the ole M and you'll be nice and toasty on load up.

Malls are taking a crap even in the busy metro area that I live in.  They get bulldozed and turned into walmarts or other big box stores like Menards, etc with strip malls in front of them.

That's just one of the rules that the mall management requires of us. Yes some of them do leak a little. They also require that we disconnect the batteries while the tractors are on display. The fire marshal requires that we insert a piece of plastic sheeting between the fuel cap and filler neck to prevent fuel vapors. Kind of silly in my opinion but those are the rules. Two years ago they forgot to disable the smoke detectors when we pulled out of there and we had several fire trucks show up as we were leaving.
