Td9 oil pressure issues

Recommended Posts

Hi all, have a td9-91 drott, its petrol start then diesel d350 engine, the oil pump runs off the crank, anyway I've just got all the oil pump working with new filter etc, I have no oil pressure up top end off motor, if you take a grub screw out of the block in the lower galleries were the oil pressure line goes and oil absolutely sprays out of there when you start it up but nothing up at the top, lifters and pushrods rockers all dry, will a stuck bypass valve in the filter housing stop oil going up to end? Any help would be great, its so strange, there's 40psi pressure when running but top end is dry still

did this start after you had the oil pump off? have you worked on any other part of the engine like head gasket? rebuild? could be head gasket on up side down covering oil gallery hole or dirt dabber built a nest in something stopping it up while apart. how long did you run it waiting for oil to get to valves usually takes a few minuets as it has to fill rocker shaft first before it comes out rocker arms more information needed to help us help you good luck russ
