a lot of the finished product quality and composition depends on the corn variety  (some snap off easier/less husk than other varieties), weather (damp drizzly days usually = less trash), and the kind/size of screen used. sometimes, the product resembles corn silage, sometimes well husked ear corn from a grinder mixer.

We have usually heard it as earlage but around here most call it snapledge. 

Like Bill says quality can vary depending on corn, weather, etc...
