TD15

Recommended Posts

Hey gentlemen and ladies. I haven’t been around for a while since I sold my TD20. I have the opportunity to pick up this 15. I haven’t had the chance to look it over myself. Owner says the chains and sprockets are shot. Pads are newer. Engine is leaking oil from the front. Transmission is rebuilt. Hasn’t ran in a few years. Says it is a B series. Do you guys think it is worth giving it a second chance and what kind of money do you think it is worth?

Thanks

Rick

Straight looking machine in the pic but I would first find out if any undercarriage is available.  New might be scares.  Looks like it wants to go do something.

Can't help with price.  good luck

The pads look almost new! It is definitely a "B" series, engine in mine is a 407, so could be an expensive rebuild if it needs to be. Rebuilt power shift, not sure how much value there. Undercarriage can be the hardest thing to find, but if I remember correctly, someone posted here several years ago that another brand of chain will work.

I would say value , not running, undercarriage shot, the rebuilt tranny questionable (if it's been sitting and if total rebuild) . A little more than scrap price. I hate to say it, because it looks like a good machine from the picture

I’m hoping to get out there soon to have a look at it. I don’t really need it, but I have a soft spot for international equipment. I was thinking scrap price would be a good starting point.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a place to get the undercarriage. That is a good looking dozer otherwise. It would be a shame to ship it across the pond.

If it goes for scrap, I would be interested in the pads

I sure like that machine. Find sprockets and chains first. Then agree on a price (scrap ) contingent on it running and moving. Then see if you can get it to run and move. You're still buying work. Right now it's a pile of scrap shaped like a real nice dozer.

I had a chance to get out to look at the machine. Overall it looks decent. Rails look like they’re about 71/4 centre. The owner said it last ran about 7 years ago. Any idea of the year and where the serial number is. Engine appears to be the 407. He said he would let me know on an asking price.

Hello Rick

S/N on a B is tag left side of seat just behind shift tower, if still there.  Early B was 361 engine, later were 407, very similar engine.  Berco undercarriage dealer a good place to start for availability and price.  Count your links, I might be able to help with Berco p/n but have been retired 10yrs.  Possible s/n break on sprockets.  Bolt size change and maybe pitch change.  Have fun

Owner finally got back to me with an asking price. He wants 6g for it. That is quite a bit more than I am willing to pay. As ExSW said above, it really is just a nice pile of scrap steel.

Maybe i will check back with him in a year or two.

Did you find out for sure that it runs?
