On beans now, lots of green stems but moisture is anywhere from 8%-11%, yields are poor (around 30) but we didn't get hardly any rain second half of growing season.

Running around 11%-12%. Yielding in the mid 50's, which is pleasantly surprising.  Got neighbors that were saying they're around the mid 40's.  Also got beans that were replanted that still at 15%, will need to wait a few days for them.

I was running a plot Friday/sat over around Nashville and I think I saw your cabover on the road maybe. I was just South of town on 127. East side of the road.

Yes! I saw you running that yellow test plot combine but I didn't put 2 and 2 together and figure out that it was you. Hauling corn that day which was Friday I think. I was probably moving at a pretty good clip as I was trying to make up for the morning that I lost due to the water pump grenading itself on the other 1680 that was on corn. Water pump had only 50 hrs on it and the Chinese bearings let go and broke the shaft in half, luckily it didn't sent the fan through the radiator.

We have been picking corn in earnest for a week.  I switched over for beans today and finished getting everything ready.  Not quite half done with corn.  Its been a good run this far.   Hope to get a couple good days on  beans and then back to corn.

Yup, that was me. I didn't grenade anything until Saturday afternoon. A sieve let go sending pieces scattering. It got several bearings, part of a fan, and a bunch of external brace work while it tried to destroy itself.  I will probably be there with a different machine to finish up tomorrow. Blow the big horn if you see me out there :)  I had 3.5 rounds left when it gave up...

Here's a few pics of us combining wheat a couple weeks ago. Haven't turned a wheel since then, till yesterday. Did some oats, and canola was still testing 11% so no go. Got another 4 tenths of rain overnight so we'll be shut down a few more days yet.

It’s been a tough harvest for us this year. Frost wiped out 70-80% of our crop overall and in a few areas it wiped out 100% of it. We’re 2 weeks ahead of schedule right now as it doesn’t take long to harvest a 20% crop!

We added 4 new controlled atmosphere (C/A) rooms this year but we don’t have a crop to fill them! So we’re storing and packing a lot of fruit for other growers in the area this year. So hopefully the revenue from that will help with the new payments.

Our ground was so dry that the rain soaked right in and dried up quickly. Probably finish beans in 2 days.

Interesting hopper you have there on the auger. How big of box on the GMC? We've got a 75 tandem with a 20'.

I thought I took more pics but I guess I didn't get any from combining canola. Here's one from picking up oat swaths a couple days ago
