Steering help 1600 loadstar

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a 1971 international loadstar 1600. Only real problem is that the steering shaft coupler didn't engage the steering box. The shaft on the box is 3/4". The only replacement couplers I could locate were 1" in diameter.  Local heavy truck shop says parts are unavailable.  Does anyone have a source for this part?

did you try a International dealer or just a heavy duty truck shop what is the part number of the piece you need? those medium duty parts are a whole different game than hd duty truck stuff.

Look up the Lightline suppliers especially IH parts america  Find a Dealer

or look up "borgesen"  steering components   Borgeson Universal Company :: Couplers & Adapters

might also check jegs.com or other street rod parts house's you will however need to know the diameter and spline count for your steering box also the shape of the steering shaft along with its diameter ie.{ 3/4"x36spline X 3/4"DD} then just wield the new pieces in place of the old rag joint or universal joint they also have collapsible steering shafts too russ
