Home from Rantoul ! 4500 miles round trip

What a show !!!!!!  Just could not imagine parade lineup mile deep , Golf carts waiting to inter at least 3/4 of a mile back.  Corn pickers lined up waiting their turn.

The amazing part , All happened quickly & orderly !

Something going on  all corner's of grounds.  In the static displays , Not just a couple of a brand , How about long lines parked side by side.

People friendly and helpful . Great tribute to Darius Harms & family. I was fortunate to have met him once and felt like I had known him forever.

WE dry camped about a mile from front gate but with golf carts it was just right.

My first neighbor was a Indiana Guy they call Smoker 1. He was a big help for all of us being together. On the other side of us was 2+2 Guy , and Bill N.Y. & brother Mike joined us. Behind us was Sledgehammer ( Wish His Dad would give him up for adoption , I would claim he his wife and New Son) Then the final arrival Danny Anderson & Kathy .

We missed T-Bone & Sharon & Bill & Jeanette Karis ,but T-bone took two tractors and he and Karis's were in the HIGH RENT DISTRICT. lol

Amazing four days for Carol & I  . 2+2 guy chaired the board meetings in Bill's absence.

I must say , Its the people that make these shows , grown to love these guys over time on Forum & in person at events.

Its getting late I'll post few pictures today then continue posting pictures in next few days.

Very kind words Tony. Thank You.

I will sound like a broken record but Tony is correct. Tractors make a good show, People make a great show. I'm already looking forward to 2019. Glad you made it home safely.

Few more.

Was an honor meeting Max Armstrong .  Fella in blue top is on the Farm progress Show ,Committee ,pleasure meeting him.

As a life long farmer I was impressed by the Rich looking soil and most of all, the Rich smell of that soil. Have not experienced that smell since a kid.

All the harvested commodities gathered by antique equipment is transported to market in current modern equipment.

My understanding is that money made on the crops are use toward next show.

That Nicely done M is one of our RPF members.

Static displays had many to see.

        More pic's to come ,later.

Tony thanks for all the pics but especially that one of the Oliver 252 disc. Hope I don't get docked any points for admitting this but I've plowed many acres of cotton ground on a JD 4440 pulling a a Oliver 252 almost identical to that one. Thanks for jarring a old memory loose...lol

Yes,I wanted too . Max gave me two tickets.

However, being first time motor homers we scheduled to close !

As it was we were saddened to not go to Indiana to visit T-Bone & Sharon & Smoker1 but my kids called and said we needed to be in Mcpherson Kansas by Wed. As my grandson was starting college there and his parents were leaving. That got moved up three days.

  We are learning.

So Sorry we did not spend more time together !  2+2 Guy chaired the board meetings in your absence

Only regret I have is that we did not spend more time with  You & the Lindzy's

We also missed Matt Bodine but he was at pulls and us old guys were ready for a beer or wine and soft chair.

Evening in golf cart was a beautiful sunset.

That M was Daruis's Dad's tractor . There was a very nice tribute to His equipment.

I was privileged to take a picture of His pickup with three of His Granddaughters.

The Old truck was nearby and an attraction for a picture.lol.

First arrivals for Friday morning briefing ,Safety meeting & coffee.

This was Friday morning at 9:30 am show opened at 8:am  over 3/4 mile of golf carts , Gators . Razors ,etc . but it went very fast and orderly.  Its so heartwarming to see the interest in ag history.

Finally Got to Meet Sherry, Tell Her how much I like the Iron Heritage especially when she features I.H. Muscle.

This is a first : Chrome Axle.

     Crowds watching plowing & tillage.

Was awesome to stand under our beautiful Flag !

Of course you did not think  could walk by a U300 L.P.

I like the muffler set up on the 1468.  The black and chrome look good.  If you had one that needed a exhaust set up

I have been playing with that on my 68  but I think I'll go Cermikote all the way and the two rain caps pointing inward . Seems to be the factory set up.

I have few more pictures , If you guys are tired , just say ,Enough already and I'll stop. These pic's are what cought my interest . I am sure there were many more.

Ferguson Baler ,I remember seen one at our dealer , I must of been 9 years old ,with my Dad. But I never saw one in field . They went no where out here.

The next is a very early Case Baler.

Then an early cotton picker with an H .
