You can drill and tap holes in that bar no problem.  Case IH has a bracket that clamps around there too.  #4 in the first picture. These pictures are of my 5288.

These are in my 5488. Not so cluttered in there.  It's the same bracket.

I need to tidy up the wires better,  but I mounted a post to the cab floor and just stacked things up.

Here is what I did on my 88........later I added a scale monitor, precision monitor, and a cellular modem for RTK.   A Deere power strip is mounted under it for all power so I didn't have issues with a ton of wires all over the place.

Case wants a mint for that bracket  FarmerFixEmUp has.  I was going to buy one to mount the control  box for a Deere round baler- ended up roughing out a drawing with measurements and took it to the machine shop. They bent me a c-shaped piece and cut out a couple of pieces of flat stock which I then clamped together with bolts around that horizontal bar.   Ran the cable across the floor and out through the hole provided to run chopper controls- not quite as tidy as most, but I didn't want to cut new holes in the cab and it works

You should see the left side of the steering column and the right side above the hitch controls. I have point row shutoffs and a fertilizer rate controller there too. I counted and I have 5 speedometers. 3 on radar, the Rawson, planter drive,  Early riser Monitor, Raven fertilizer rate controller, factory cluster and a Calc an Acre that senses off the front wheel.

I just welded two 1" pieces of angle apart on my bracket the same width as the box tube there on the cab, drilled a 3/8" hole through them and with the same on each end you just slide it on the tube, drop the bolt down through, with a nut on the other, tighten it up and its in...................Nothing aggrivates me more than buying a tractor and everything up in the cab is all drilled up.

How are you guys running all of the cables and wires out of the cab?

Here is my set up.

The 50 series had a notch in the rh cab step to run wires through. Mine has been enlarged slightly to run cables through. I also have some under the floormat through a wiring grommet just above the starter.

Yes it is, I always rode behind the seat with my dad and bumped my head on window idk how many times. So I thought I'd make some nice seats for my kids, and they love them and are safe also. One in each 86 series I have. I should probably patent it I suppose??
