Hi All, My Radiator on my1968  td9  b series started to leak from the bottom tank ,I have removed it for repair I believe it has a cork gasket that seals the bottom and top tank , my question is, do I have to use cork ( what thickness? )or can I use a modern sealant or a combination of both? Thanks in Advance for your thoughts and opinions

Check with a over the road truck repair shop. They sell gasket material for tank to core.

I have heard that heavy grade black tar builders felt (i.e. tar paper) will work.

A good layer of The Right Stuff will seal anything.
