Ertl 460 &560 variations

Recommended Posts

I think I red an article about different versions of the 460 &560 toy tractors from the 60s.ANyone red such an article? Red Power?

Regardless, there is the cast rim fast hitch version, duals white wheels no f/h, single white wheels no f/s , white wheels no f/s with ice cream box cab and a fast hitch tractor with : part of the drawbar hitch in the casing. Anyone familiar with this version ? what wheels did they have?

Thanks in advance

There's also versions with a belt pulley, 450 style wheels, metal rear wheels, plastic wheels, etc.

I called Mark Egli and he backed up what I thought I read somewhere. sometime between the fast hitch and the drawbar versions there was some with the drawbar cut iff and fast hitch. his theory is that there may have been a lot of faulty drawbars so they were cut off and fast hitches installed to use the castings. Anyone see the second one before?

There definately was a "cut off drawbar" version......

IIRC there are a BOATLOAD of versions.....one of the most varied of the ERTL tractors.  Mostly because it was carried along forever in the dime store versions for "play toys" long after the 560 was replaced by the 806.

Toy Farmer made several WFE versions in the 70's and there were 3 or 4 versions of the "Fly'n Farmall" puller as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if the variations of the 560 casting don't total 30 before it's all said and done.
