td18 flush tranny

cheapest product to flush tranny?  will need 24 qts.

crud on tranny dip stick.dont kno what it is, plus oil

is at end of stick.   refill 80-90 oil $144, solvent  $115, too

back cant use water. ha.  need advice. thanks ajtel

Manual says fill with kerosene. drive around in low gear for a bit, drain out an refill with fresh 90 wt gear lube. I have used diesel and it seemed to work fine also. While your are doing the gearbox, check the final drives, they can get rather funky too. Jim.

will try diesel since cheapest to see if cleans. $2.50 gal.

kerosene and solvent $9,00 gal.

I had to drain and flush one of my diesel trucks that had water and algae in the fuel system. I drained off the fuel, let it settle out, and hand pumped the fuel thru a filter. filled 3- 50 gal drums. Use it in heaters and cleaning parts also.

If the tractor has been sitting a while, good idea to crack the drains underneath to take off the excess water, then drive around to warm up the lube. Then drain while warm, put in diesel and proceed with flush.

I use kerosene in the steam cleaner and its really expensive. Jim.
