  2. Was wondering what you guys think a running engine out of a 1952 TD9 would be worth? I have one that someone is trying to buy from me so was not sure what I should tell him I want for it. Was thinking somewhere around $750.
  3. There is a filter pot hanging off the side of my WDR-9 that I haven't seen on any other 9's that I've looked at. When I took the top off today it seems to be an extra oil filter for the engine. Has anyone seen one of these? Do I need it?
  4. Hello everyone and thank you in advance for your help! I have an ID9 that I am rebuilding and purchased a Camshaft driven hydraulic pump off of ebay. It is very similar to this pump here. We would like to completely refurbish it as there are some cracked gears and shafts inside (unit wouldnt last long if we actually used it like that) I was wondering if any of you knew where I could find parts for those pumps, or if there are any machinists you know who could copy some of those gears shafts etc. (we dont mind spending a little money). Any info is helpful!

I have a super WD9 that approaches 80HP on the dyno that we are looking into getting a grader for, and were wondering if it could handle the larger model. I do realize the horsepower recommendation is well above the tractor, but I was hoping it had more to do with weight than horsepower.   6. Just a quick question for you all since you have way more experience and some of you were around when these tractors were truly running the farm. What are some of the best improvements to add to these tractors for field work? I specifically am restoring an ID-9 and am just looking to see what is worth spending money on, and what isn't.

Hi all, I'm currently working on bringing the old family ID9 back to life and I have been trying to think of a good way to ensure that the head will not crack (other than keeping the radiator full, proper timing, proper shutdown etc.) Do you think it would be helpful to add an auxiliary oil cooler to the tractor? The other idea I had was adding a coolant bypass hose that I could put an electric coolant pump onto so after shutdown you could run it for a few minutes to ensure water flow continued and the engine temperature doesn't rise. Let me know your thoughts! Any answers and expertise from you is incredibly helpful!

Hello everyone, I have come to get a little expert help on an idea that keeps popping up in my head, I have the awful feeling it might be a poor idea but all the same I figured it might be worth coming to you guys for your expertise. I have been restoring an ID9 as a working tractor and I am trying to add a hydraulic reservoir that wont become an eyesore. The idea hit me to use the transmission and differential case as a reservoir for the hydraulic fluid (sort of like the John Deere 4210 we also use) and adding an oil cooler so that the oil doesn't get too hot. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts and see if this is a horrible idea and just stick with an external reservoir.
  9. I just recently restored a Super WD9. I'm wondering why some are painted all red, and some have a white grille and white stripe on the bottom of the hood.
  10. Hi, Everyone I am new to this and this is my first post so here goes. I have a TD-9 and am in the process of putting an engine from a WD-9 in it because the TD-9 engine seized and was leaking antifreeze into the oil. So I am looking for advice on the differences between the engines. I know that the oil pumps are different and that the fly wheels are along with all the mounting brackets and the fuel filter brackets (the one on the TD-9 sticks out from the engine more) is there any other things that are different that I am missing? Any advice or tips would be appreciated. Thanks
