Hi everyone, could you please give me advice on the following. I recently bought a Chisholm Ryder bean picker. This is powered by a Farmall 656 Hydro, it is not a hi clear but an adapted wide front Farmall. If I look online the serial numbers are quite short but mine is long 2450118U043651* Model F 656, I understand how to identify the year made from the shorter ones but not from this. There were not many 656's that came to Australia, any advice would be appreciated.
My late Dad's old M has a ID plate that says M, and a hood that says SM... he always referred to it as a super, but he's not around to ask if he rebadged it after a rebuild... I remember his saying it was rebuilt in the 60's. It doesn't bother me if it's one versus the other, but I'd buy parts one way or another based on what it is. Probably not time to do a restore this winter, but I'd like to get it to the point of being a gravity wagon mover, and maybe a hay tedder runner, just fixing the service affecting items, cleaning the fuel tank, servicing, etc. Runs fine and doesn't smoke, and I ran a new holland feed mixer a few times, with the governor operating well under load. So... Did they tag all Supers as SM or some that way and some as M? More to the point, does someone know which that I have?
Hi all, just signed up and hoped someone could help me out. I bought a Case IH 485 4x4 tractor and love it. The tractor serial number tag is missing on the right front bolster. I suppose it was scrapped off when the Farmhand loader was installed years ago or some other various reason. I found a data plate on the backside left of the front drive axle 61236 and one on the right rear down low next to the hitch housing, very difficult to see, 373935 BTZ. I did find the engine serial number on the pad on the right crankcase side 179D12D391622. What year model is this tractor and how can I go about getting a replacement legal data plate for the tractor? Thank you.
Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum but have a question about changing my 1965 Farmall 706 from a wide front back to a narrow front. The IH parts manual lists a 706 pedestal as part number 370253 R1 but most of the bolsters I see on websites have the number 6719 DE or 6719 DD, the IH number with R suffix is not present. Could anyone please tell me if these numbers are for a 706, it is very hard to find a narrow front here in Australia, so one will be purchased in the USA. I anyone could offer advice it would be appreciated.
