  1. Got my Red Power Today

Finally got around to reading the latest issue after the busy holiday season. That was an excellent article on the photographic center. Kudos to Jim for researching/writing.
  2. Happy New Year

Happy New Year. Hope 2018 brings many blessings to all on this forum (and warmer weather).
  3. IH Christmas What did you get?

I got all 3 of Octane Press's books. It'll take me a long time to get them all read. I bet that box weighed 25 pounds.
  4. Grandpa's (now mine) 1973 666 gas. About 3650 hours all original. I couldn't tell you how many hours I spent riding on the fender growing up. I don't farm and only have 3 acres, but it's my favorite.
  5. C-PAP MACHINE

I just started using a cpap in August. It makes a world of difference. I'm not terribly overweight, must be hereditary. Part of my day job is maintaining the equipment they use to diagnose sleep apnea and I will say that if your machine is over a couple years old, you will be surprised at how quiet the new machines are. Also, there a literally a hundred different mask/headgear combinations so finding one that's comfortable is possible.
  6. super mta gas head question

I've removed the valve cover off of my new super M-TA gas. While cleaning around the rocker arms I noticed the casting code of the head is 8-27-E. The part number cast into the head is 8574-DC, which seems to be the correct part number for a gas head. If I'm reading the casting date correctly, that is a 1959 casting date. Was this head used for another engine?

  8. Solar eclipse

My local welding supply shop also said #5 cutting goggles and a #10 lens is safe. We also tried an auto darkening helmet and it was fine. I had heard to not use them, but can't remember where. I would set the delay to 0 though.
  9. Went to a show yesterday

It was good to visit with you on Saturday. I finally got everything home and tucked away. The rain on Sunday slowed me down.
  10. Heat Gauge

I agree with the quality of the precision tractor parts gauges. They are top notch. They not only need to look correct, but they also need to work.
  11. Rantoul reservations made

I was told the air museum is closed now. I can't remember where I heard that at though.
  12. IHCC Winter Convention

It was good to meet you last weekend Bill. Hope you return home safely.
  13. Serial number 460 Farmall

1 of the letters denotes tractor has factory installed independent pto. Not sure which right now. I know mine has a "CC" in the s/n and it is a heavy duty third gear.
  14. New joke

What was the first thing the zombie did after he dumped his girlfriend? Wiped.
