I've contemplated upgrading engines in my '70 Loadstar. I was thinking of going to a diesel, but my current cab set-up doesn't allow things to fit. Does anyone know where I could find the larger nose with the louvers in it? I think they were used on the diesels, larger gas engines, and larger trucks (1800's?). I'm sure there is one setting in a yard some where. I'm also looking for the factory dog house that went on the inside of the cab. Can anyone help?

This is the grill I'm looking for. They stuck out past the edge of the hood allowing more front clearence.

Funny how much it changes the look.

Have you tried the other IH truck forums like BinderPlanet and OldIHC? Some of those guys have some significant junk yard contacts.

Yea, it does change it quite a bit. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the look. I think with the grill and the dog house I would be able to fit a 5.9 Cummins in the engine compartment. The 304 won't hold a constant 55 on the highway loaded.......it's time to upgrade.

This is the only forum I've poste on. I thought for sure that someone on here would have a connection; plus, I'm not in a hurry.

And you're probably right. Just gotta keep the pot stirred. Mark O (amongst others) should have some comments on which models might be so equipped.
