I'm thinking the rear number (886 in this case) is a number given to this piece of equipment to keep track of it by the company that owns it
.
1938 Farmall F-20 waiting in the weeds , 1954 Farmall Super M-TA Gas, 1959 Farmall 560 Turbo Diesel with Woods belly mower , 1967 Farmall 656 Hydro Diesel , 1969 Farmall 856 Custom Turbo Diesel with a Westendorf loader & Hiniker Cab & 1997 Ford F250 4x4 Extcab with Powerstroke IH Turbo Diesel .

Hopefully this works!
Looks to me like the picture's reversed. Seems to be a D358, but the intake manifold and fuel filters should be on the left side.
I notice that the headlights are in the grille, like a 66 or 86 series,
The photo of the tractor being built at Saltillo is dated 1973
The tractor being advertised at the start of the post is listed as a 1979 ("anos '79"), if my hopeless Spanish is correct

P.S. The assembly line set up at Saltillo looks very basic compared to other factories!

I'm not sure about all that stuff but isn't the license plate on the front europian ? Could have been imported .
I can't read the number plate in the photo.
Most countries require tractors to be registered if they are driven on public roads now.
That is the case in Australia, Britain, Germany etc.
I don't know the requirements in Mexico though!

886 Taco special.
What is a TACO special?
Does it mean an American built "export edition" for central American or a Mexican built version of an American model?
Or both?
To add to the confusion IH Mexico built at least two German models, the 624 and the 523, at Saltillo

Interesting to know what transmission type (Hydro or Gear Drive) and what hitch system (3 Point or Fast Hitch) this tractor has!
I bet that tractor has a lot in common with an 826.
I agree.
Looks like an update of the Farmall 826, a sort of interim model before the 886.
