I had never heard of this.

I had heard of the 'Battle of Blaire's mountain', in West Virginia. That was union vs. coal companies.

Battle of Athens is more chilling......

Well worth the 13 1/2 minutes..

Thanks!
I have lived in Tennessee but had never heard of it.

The foresight of The Founders never ceases to amaze.

Free government is founded in jealousy, not confidence. It is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions, to bind those we are obliged to trust with power.... In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in men, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.
Thomas Jefferson, 1799

MikeM,thanks for posting this,I never knew about this incident either.Fellas,I think this is a perfect example of what will be needed to restore our country.I believe this "War on Terrorism" is a crafted diversion to keep the American people's attention diverted while our freedom is stolen.I'm not saying incidences of terrorism against the US are not real but that the powers that be are using them to further an agenda to turn the US into a socialist state.I believe it could very well come down to taking up arms against our govt.

Very well said Bulldog,
I'm putting together a "linkage" of recent events and news articles, when they are put together the whole picture is rather scary and hard to dismiss.

The Patriot Act was the worst thing to come out of the Bush presidency. It was bad enough when you had an administration that believed in the 'rule of law', but we got a hint of the potential consequences when TSA and Homeland 'Security' were established, plus we have the fact that law enforcement agencies, starting with the Federal Bureau of Incompetence, figured out that they can trash the Constitution, and the RIGHTS it guarantees WE, THE PEOPLE, under the guise of 'protecting' us from 'terrorism'.

BUT, we can see what FEDERAL law enforcement agencies and their "jack-booted storm troopers" thought of WE, THE PEOPLE, and the Constitution long before 9/11. We must NEVER forget the slaughter of INNOCENT men, women, and children at Mt. Carmel and Ruby Ridge, the atrocities committed against legitimate, law-abiding gun owners by the FBI and the BATF, and how state and local law enforcement supported these acts.

The best indicator of what law enforcement thinks of WE, THE PEOPLE and the Constitution is that when the FBI and Homeland Security declared that "veterans, gun owners, CHRISTIANS, and ANYONE who disagrees with the policies of the current administration are to be considered "potential domestic terrorists", and NOT ONE, repeat, NOT ONE law enforcement agency disagreed.

It seems strange that law enforcement finds it easier to invent all sorts of 'crimes' and 'domestic terrorists', but does NOTHING about the sources of real terrorism, because such action is NOT politically correct.

Law enforcement has but one goal, which is the establishment of a police state, where they are in total control of the most trivial details of the lives of ALL American citizens. At t he top of the heap, with their hatred of the Constitution and the wisdom of the Founding Fathers are the FBI, BATF, a certain political party, and the elitists of the media, who, as our 'betters' will be part of the ruling elite.

Stock up NOW on guns and ammo, and prepare for an all out war, IF ...........

If WE, THE PEOPLE cannot defend the Constitution and the FREEDOM given us by the Founding Fathers, how can we be worthy of being an American?

I have lived in Tennessee since 85 and in western Ky before that and don't recall ever hearing of this. Makes me proud to be in Tennessee. This was in between Knoxville and Chattanooga just east of I 75. I can only hope We the Peoplehave the intestinal fortitude to stand up to the tyranny that has been building, and is now ramping up at an alarming rate. I think/hope that there are many that will and are ready to join in to restore the liberties our founding fathers gave us. I think it was Franklin that said" a republic if you can keep it". Can we keep it?!

I would hope that if such a war would arise, that the people will be ready to sacrifice everything for freedom. Seems to me that alot of people are in their own little worlds, but would they drop their personal agendas to fight for freedom? I could for see a cival war brewing big time. The ones against socialism and ones for it. And yes its scary how our for fathers knew exactly how to cover every base when drafting the constutional rights.

Ive been trying to get my friends to read John Price's book; The End of America, Biblical warnings to leave America. I know everyone has theories, but I believe you all are true patriots and a lot of you are Bible believing Christians and would like to hear from you all as to what you think of this book and teachings. It is relavant to this topic. Hope this doesnt violate some rule somewhere..You can PM me if you would like.
