i have a 63 loadstar and we have had quite a bit of problems with it this spring. currently using it to haul a 650 gallon water tank to put out fires when we burn irrigation ditches.
Recently got the brakes to working with a new rebuilt booster from NAPA and now the clutch slave cylendar went out and they had that and now we need the master cylendar for the clutch and it can not be found around here. NAPA, Checker or the independent parts house show numbers but NLA also the kit is NLA.
Am about ready to take the rear radials off of it and put on old tires and drive it to Pueblo 120 miles as they are giving $250 for iron and just sell the old thing. Hate to part with my dads truck but i am afraid it is about time.

Can the master cylinder be rebuilt, maybe stainless sleeved if badly worn. The old truck looks to be in not bad order for its age just needs some TLC would be a shame to scrap it when it was your fathers truck.Do you have a clutch and brake specialist in your area, that may be able to rebuild the mastercylinder matching seals and cup sizes instead of using a kit.

Can you post a picture? I have parts books for the 60s Loadstars and the 70s Loadstars. I have found that our local Napa ALWAYS says the parts are NLA, but with the original IH part number, their website often has a crossreference.

Hagan, did some looking thru my old Napa books. I come up with Napa United 36153 as the clutch master cylinder, that is listed to fit most all of the Loadstars. That has been changed according to the Napa web site to NCF (Napa Clutch & Flywheel) 72500. My Napa says there is one in the Denver warehouse, one in Billings and one in Albuquerque.

3788, 856, 666 w/F11, 240 w/Wagner backhoe, 4136 IH Skid Steer, 3850 Payloader, 350 Diesel utility, 300, M (2), H (2), Super C, 58 A110, 59 B160, 62 C120 4x4, 66 Scout, 68 Scout, 68 Travelall, 71 Loadstar 1600, 75 Loadstar 1700 4x4 w/Coleman axle, 71 1110 4x4, 73 1210 4x4 (3), 74 150 4x4, 74 Scout w/Chrysler 440, 78 Traveler, 80 Scout Diesel, 80 Terra Diesel, , 392 LPG Irrigation Engine, 84 F250 w/6.9 HyperMax Turbo, 2000 F350 PowerStroke, Cadets-60, 111, Cub Cadets-Original, 70, 100, 127, 1450. Literature collection too!

we have a napa dealer here that kept all his old books so when the computer says nla you can go to the book find a number and cross reference it. the clutch cylinder should just have a cup that you can buy hone it and use the old pieces with a new cup. fifteen years ago around here wasn't such a thing as replacing wheel cylinders or master cylinders hone them and new kits good to go. now we just get new parts. dale

Many Thanks i read your post to the NAPA guy and after he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes he said yep they do show one. I sometimes think they just want to say NLA so a guy does not have to mess with some of us
