Picture is of poor quality, but still looks like a pretty respectable machine, at least cosmetic-wise. One glaring problem is it looks like its cab door is missing. Would be nice if they still have it available to sell with the tractor.

My memory is beginning to fail me in certain areas, but did any 4166's ever come in yellow, or were they red right from the start of the model run?

John, to the best of my knowledge, the IH and CASE machines were of their own design, and not shared platforms. I know for sure the engines were not the same. I've never sat in a CASE 2470 or 2670, but I've seen pics and the operator stations appear very different. But, I would like to hear from one of our IH experts regarding this. I think the IH 4100 came out way before any of the CASE 2470's or 2670's. Experts? Please....

A while back- I can't remember what year it was, 2003 or 2004 maybe, I was at a farm equipment auction in my county where I watched a nice 4100 with cab sell for $6,000.00. This one above is priced at $4,500.00.

The 4100, 4156 and 4166 were NOT in any way connected to the Case crabsteers, totally different machines. The 4100 were the only ones to come in yellow, the 56 and 66 were red.
the 41's had a IH 429 motor and the Case had a 504.
4100 came out in 1965 if I remember correctly and dont think Case came out with a 4wd until around 1970 with the 1470.

I don't think all the 4156's were red. Of the 6 or 8 I have ever been close enough to look at, probably only one or two of them were red.

There is a local guy that has a snow removal business. (which was slow this year :D) Anyway!.. He has a fleet of 4156's 4166's, and 4186's, with blades on them to clear all the mall parking lots. He has painted them all very nice, and seems to take care of them. I always thought I would like one.
