I have a Farmall 140 that i use with a hi/lo transmission, it was a long lever and this sits in torque tube in front of the trans, the torque tube/trans housing is actually different on this than a regular farmall 140.

Does anyone know anything about this, or capacity specifications?

Thanks

Jason

Never found that unit in a 140 parts book but look at 404 tractor parts for dual range or forward and reverse transmission. Think you will see a unit like you have.

The 140 never had a Hi/Low shift
Someone could have added a Hi/low from something else???
Post some pictures and casting numbers so We can all see it.

Ron this is the second unit I have heard of. Supposedlly IH and Chisom-Ryder were trying to work on a low range transmission for some custom applications. It's my understanding that the program was canceled because the application ended up needing more hp than the 140 could muster. Eason

Ok i'll get some pictures of it and post, i bought this a few years ago at farm auction, and there were 3 Farmall 140 hi crops with the 2 speed out of 16 140 hi crops that they sold. All parts are IH too.

Here are some pictures so you folks see what the high low trans looks like in a Farmall 140 hi crop. This long lever on the side controls it.
