I hate to say this....but a model 666 sounds kind of devilish.....lol.
I wonder what big wig at IH thought that would be a good model number designation?
Regarding tractor names; IH had a "Naming Commitee" that created new model names and model number sequences.
They got it wrong some-times though.
The above mentioned "666" ("Number of the Beast")
The "ODS-6" orchard tractor ("Odious Six")
The German built "Farmall DED-3" ("Dead Three") which should have been re-named in the English speaking markets where it was sold.
