Just wondered if anyone won the 4020 that I saw advertised last year. Was supposed to be refurbished, but don't know to what extent. I don't remember the exact drawing date for the selected winner or winners, but I thought it was this Spring.

Somebody jokingly said that 2nd and 3rd place winners might win two or three 4020's. :D

Hey I remember starting that thread so here is the original post from January 7 in Coffee Shop. Don't remember exactly when the drawing was/is, but I can tell you I haven't been notified yet that I won

Today in the mail was an offer to subscribe to Farm Show Magazine and enter to win a rebuilt 1972 4020 valued at $15,000. Shipped free to anywhere in North America. It looks good in the picture, but there's not much detail on who or to what extent the rebuild was done. Add says the odds of winning depends on how many enter, so I've already filled out the form figuring I'll have a lot better chance than the recent MegaMillions drawing (which by the way, I did not win...) Would anyone on here know anything about this particular tractor or the rebuild? (just in case I win!)

756D M&W turbo (sold it), Farmall A, Kubota B7610 compact and three garden tractors: Wheel Horse 520H, Wheel Horse 314-8; Sears Suburban SS16. Back when I had only two garden tractors, the wife said I had "too many tractors..."

Given some of the farmer rigged contraptions that show up in Farm Show, their intepretation of a 4020 may be even more hideous than Foose's creation.

Don't get me wrong, I would accept the 4020 if I won it. I could sell it but it would not be all profit as nice 1099 would come along with it . Inflated value with high trucking bill added in. IRS might be bigger winner than I ! :(

Reminds me years ago a person won new Lincoln Town Car, 1980's vintage. Came with huge 1099. Full sticker and all. Folks were going to have trouble coming up with tax cash so sold it to a friend of mine for near half its value.

Some of those raffles with high value items have cash option.I probably take that instead of prize if not something I wanted to keep.Wonder if 4020 has cash option ?

Ok, thanks, I couldn't remember who started the thread, but enjoyed it very much. I haven't tried to figure how much the IRS will get from the winner. Maybe Mike Newman would want it, if the winner doesn't. :)

I'm not real sure if I'd want the cash or the tractor if the winner had a choice. Could use the cash, but it would be gone in no time. If it was a decent sized IH tractor being given away, I'd probably have no trouble in deciding to take the tractor over the cash if given the choice.

Art, you've got a very valid point there. I wonder what happened to that supposed invention where hydrogen was taken from batteries and put into the John Deere engine and supposedly got great performance? I can't remeber what size of JD cab tractor was shown.
