1256 injection pump

I have a customer that pulled off his injection pump to paint the tractor without tying the throttle back. I know, a big no no, now after putting the pump back on I can't get it to bleed out at all. Did something fall apart inside or is this one just being a pain?

You should maybe pull it back off and check for damage ,if nothing is wrong make sure you have the air out to the fuel inlet on the pump then loosen 3 of the fuel line bolts at the pump and turn the engine until fuel starts to come out those lines. After this you can just tighten the lines and it should start If things are broken just let me know and you can ship it to me and I can get you fixed back up.

I had all the lines off the injectors, filled the fuel system and put air on to try and force feed it, pulled the top cover and filled with fuel, and loosened the outlet port on the bottom of the charge port. I also took the timing cover off and it does turn the timing marks, so is there someting that connects the rest that would be broken?

The metering valve is probably stuck. This can happen when the throtte is tweaked on a bit. You will need to pull the top cover and flick it back into position. Been there done that.

If the pump had been sitting for a while, the plungers could be stuck. Odds are if the weights had fallen out of position, there would have been difficulty sliding the pump over the driveshaft.
