I'm trying to figure out if a IH 2250 Mount-O-Matic loader will fit on a IH 2656. Does anyone have experience/knowledge on this matter?

Brochure that I have shows 2250 loader with mounting brackets for many tractors including Farmall ( row crop )and International ( utility ) 656 tractors. IH 2656 is industrial model utility 656, so yes it will fit with proper mount brackets.

Would anyone have the specifics on which subframe and brackets go on the 656 for a 2250 loader? I looked on the CaseIH website and there are about 6 different subframes listed. Any pictures or information from the installation manual would be helpful.

the E-05 brackets are what i have on my 656, and another E-05 kit was modified (extra holes drilled on the #9 & 10 brackets) to put a 2250 loader onto an 826.
the E-02 kit is on my 784 (the british tractors)
no idea what the other kits go on.

We put a 2250 on a 686 and a 656, so in my mind it should fit.

I've bought a CaseIH 2250 Loader that came off of a 686, but my tractor is an IH 656D Hydro Utility. The loader has come with all of the mounting brackets for the front and rear along with a bunch of spacers, etc. The only thing that I'm a little worried about is the fact that my tractor side engine rails have a slight curve inward where it is attached to the front of the flywheel housing, but the 686 has straight engine rails. The E-05 brackets mentioned below have the LH and RH Support-sub frame rear brackets that appear to curve out to line everything up. What did you do to get the 2250 loader to mount to your 656? Can I space it out enough to bolt into the flywheel housing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

i think the answer is in the spacers you use.

656 scoop rt rear.jpg
i suspect from what you said about the 686 being straight, it would use only 1 spacer on the clutch housing. for the 656, it would be 2 spacers thick where the bracket hooks to the (clutch) housing- to explain my picture- it is on a hydro, and i have a cab mount/ 3/4" washer combo taking up the thickness of one of the 2 spacers on the left side of the picture. on the front (right) side of pic #1, there will be 1 spacer that has 2 holes for the 5/8" bolts through the side rail.

656 scoop rt front.jpg
on the picture of the front, there is one double 5/8" hole shim on both places where the mounting bolts go through into the engine block.

656 scoop left side.jpg
the extra plate that you see in the pictures, outside the ih frame rail, is what i added after breaking the grade 8 front bracket bolts several times. it solved that problem.

The support that you show in picture #1 with the bracket bolted to it and that's bolted to the clutch housing are the supports that I do not have and it looks like the loader mounts on the bracket right where the engine rail curves inward. Can this be done without those supports? I've checked several places for those particular supports, but no one has had them. The part number is 851993C1 (LH Support - subframe rear bracket) and 851994C1 (RH Support - subframe rear bracket).

without the supports, you won't have a place to bolt the vertical pieces with the rear mounting pins. the plates shouldn't be too hard to make if you had a template.

Any idea where a guy could get a spec sheet or blueprint for the part? I asked my dealer about getting one for me, but he said they were no longer able to request them. If not, does anyone else have a suggestion about a salvage yard or "hard-to-find" dealer that could possibly have what I need?
