I am looking at a 5230 case ih, were these good tractors? I know the 5130 had some electrical issues were the 52 series the same. It is a power shift 2wd. Thanks

Awesome tractor! Only thing better is a 5240 because you get a turbo and it needs it. Again the best little tractor ever made!

From what little research I have done it looks like the early '52 series were really '51's, it was when CaseIH went to a shuttle shift with the neutral in between forward and reverse that they were different. Someone will probably say other wise and e right though.

Great little tractors, had the 5130 and a 5230 and now a 5240. Hydrulics are questionable but can live with that. Handle very easily, visibility is good, very handy. Can do about anything. Use ours on a loader, sprayer tractor, and planter tractor..

I absolutely love our 5230.  Its a great tractor, but as mentioned earlier, a little short on power sometimes. Ours is a late model with the neutral in the shuttle. After having the neutral, i don't think i would want one without it. I run a baler with ours, and it does pretty darn good. Also, it is excellent on fuel. If the price is right and it fits your needs, buy it.
