I'm pretty sure I'm still going to be taking my Y-A-R cab off my '76 1466 to convert it back to an open station, and I was just wondering what I should ask for the cab if I sell it. Mine is straight and clean, has all good glass, a windshield wiper, fan blower and heater, air filter, but no A/C, and no radio installed. It has mounting steps and good working doors on both sides.
I don't suppose it's worth much- $400.00 or $500.00 maybe? I suppose it depends on how bad somebody wants a nice one I guess.
Also- my 1466 has this Y-A-R cab on it and no factory flat top fenders, but as I've previously mentioned, I have already obtained a nice set of factory original fenders for it. The thing is- I have on occasion seen some IH '66 series tractors with a Y-A-R cab AND with the factory flat top fenders still also installed on the tractor. What is the reason for this I wonder? Just a matter of preference I suppose?
I don't like the looks of this cab on my 14' because there is too much vertical open space between the tops of the tires (18.4-38's) and the Y-A-R cabs built-in non-adjustable fenders. It looks goofy to me, as if the tires are too small, where-as the factory flat tops will set much closer to the tops of the tires.
blah blah blah yak yak yak...
So anyways, back to the main purpose of my post here.... Does anyone remember the original cost of a brand new Y-A-R cab?
Thanks for reading.
