656 hydro what is it worth

Hey all just want to see if the 656 hydro I found is a deal or not it is gas has 3500 hours on it it is wide front and has a 2250 quick attach loader on it tires are in good shape paint is in fair shape fella wants 5200.00 for it I dont know that much about the hydro tractors is there anything I should look for any help would be appreciated

Make DARNED sure that hydro is GOOD before you go and buy it!
Go drive it and make sure that it has run for a good while and warmed up. Then put it through it's paces for a half hour or so to make sure the hydraulic oil is good and warm. Then see if you can pull it down using the brakes without the hydro slipping.
Even better would be if it could be kept in a heated shop overnight.
You DON'T want to find out later that the hydro is starting to go and you can only tell that when the oil is good and warm/hot.
If you have to put a hydro in, you will be looking at the better part of what you are looking at spending on the tractor in the first place...

Full throttle, high range. Advance the hydro lever, you should be able to kill the engine.
Full throttle, low range. Advance the hydro lever. The hydrostat should by pass after pulling the engine down 2-300rpm
This is not the definitive shop test but it should tell you if the unit is on its last legs or not.
