My 1957 350D has a valve in the intake manifold called the intake restricter valve. It can be adjusted for a certain vacuum value or to a smooth idle and minimal smoke per the manual. As soon as you advance the throttle it looks like it goes wide open. Never seen one of these on any diesel. Anyone know what the reason is for this valve? Thanks, PK.
